People keep all kinds of animals as pets.  My experience has been that animals are people too, in the sense that they exist in the Spirit World after their physical death.  I had a deer that I saw in the woods (but didn’t shoot) come to me, an old short hair pointer named Shaver that a neighbor owned, my wife’s dog Max (who passed before I met her), my dog Ringo that I grew up with, and probably a few other animals that I don’t remember off the top of my head.  I’ve had plenty of road killed animals come by, so non-pets count too.

So I have no problem including pigs.  George Clooney, famous actor in the US, is hoping to contact his pet pig who’s now in the Spirit World, and has hired a medium to assist him.  Whenever someone asks to contact a specific entity in the Spirit World, I get uneasy, because for the most part, whoever comes, comes.  As a medium, you rarely get to choose.  And it’s not uncommon to get everybody other than who you’re asking for.  I’ve have heard of some mediums who have the capability to “dial up anybody”, and if it works that way for them, more power to them.  I wouldn’t say that it makes them better mediums, more that it just happens to work that way for them, which is a bonus.

George’s pig Max was 300 lbs. and often used to sleep with him.  I’ll bet he took a lot of ribbing from a lot of guys about it.  And I can’t imagine what his girlfriends thought of it!

John Edward is a well-known medium who used to have a television show called Crossing Over, where he did message work for the audience.  He was interviewed on Fox News and he explains what mediumship is like, from the medium’s point of view. Take the time to read the article from start to finish.  He covers a lot of topics.

John Edward is one of my favorite mediums.  He’s got the right attitude.  And he’s got a new web site, InfiniteQuest.com.

Almost-Summerland opens for the summer

On June 20, 2009, in Lily Dale, by Joe

Lily Dale is opening up for the summer season, which runs from June 26th to September 6th.  The Spiritualist word for heaven is Summerland, and Lily Dale is about the closest you’ll get to it while you’re here on the Earth plane.  It’s a very spiritual and relaxing place, set amongst the trees and on the shore of a lake. When I’m there, I can just feel my spirit absorbing the peace and serenity like a sponge.  It’s a wonderful way to rejuvenate and recharge your spirit.  I try to make it once a year.

Lily Dale is located in Western New York, United States, and is the world’s largest Spiritualist community.  When you visit, you can go for services, messages, and readings, visit the museum, check out the bookstore and a couple of gift shops, and see their calendar of events.  This year, a New York City production company is looking to do a documentary for HBO.

There was a time that I was in a circle, and the spirits came through and directed healing energy towards someone who was suffering from anguish over the issue of abortion.  We also got the indication from them that abortion was ok.

My personal opinion is that abortion is a valid choice you can make, and I support it.  But before making any choice of any kind, you should give all the options serious consideration.

I found the spirits suprising.  We hadn’t been on the subject either – it had come to us, unbidden.  Which makes it more suprising. And I’m not sure that hearing it’s ok from spirits one time speaks for all times.  And I imagine that other people hear the exact opposite from other spirits.  Be that as it may, it’s still interesting.

I figured that spirits would be more conservative about it, more conservative than I am, but based on the one experience I’ve had, it doesn’t seem to be the case.  I’ve been told that such events have their place in the spirit world – things like babies who die right after birth, or during pregnancy, this type of thing.  There is some type of spiritual purpose, some type of learning to be had, and not just by the person carrying it.

Another example is a friend of mine who had Alzheimer’s Disease pretty badly for a few years before he passed away.  I’ve learned that the Alzheimer’s somehow aided his spiritual development.

Puzzling.  I’m not sure of the relationships amongst these things, how this works.  But it seems to.
